Vattenfall gets clearance for two Danish North Sea wind farms

 

The Danish Energy Agency has authorized Vattenfall to produce electricity from the Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord offshore wind farms.

The Danish Energy Agency has authorized Vattenfall to produce electricity from the Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord offshore wind farms off the coast of western Jutland in the North Sea.

The two electricity generation permits are valid for 25 years from the time of grid connection (when the first kWh is delivered from the development).

Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord will have respective capacities of 170 MW and 180 MW.

Vesterhav Syd, 9-10 km offshore Hvide Sande and Søndervig, will comprise 20 8.4-MW Siemens Gamesa wind turbines, while Vesterhav Nord’s 21 turbines, from the same supplier, will be located 5.5-8.4 km offshore Harboøre.
