Subsea Survey Specialist Unveils Key Appointments

 

An up-and-coming name in the subsea survey sector has announced the appointment of two members of staff who will play key roles in fulfilling ambitious growth plans.

Sulmara Subsea has appointed Paul Naysmith to the position of Global QHSE Manager, based in the recently-expanded hub in Aberdeen, Scotland.  With over 20 years’ experience in aerospace, medical devices and oil and gas services, Paul is also the author of more than 100 articles and two books on quality and management.  In 2014 he became the youngest ever Fellow of the Chartered Quality Institute, and holds honorary lifetime membership of the South African Quality Institute.  Paul is also a Technician Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety.

The company has also announced Al Rumson as its new Innovation Lead who will be based in Bergen, Norway. He brings to the position over 14 years of experience in the subsea industry and has worked in Norway since 2011. A former Royal Engineer Paratrooper with the British Army, Al has worked on projects across the world. He has worked in roles spanning the discipline of hydrographic survey, most recently focusing on research and development of unmanned survey solutions. He has published multiple academic articles and holds a PhD. relating to coastal and ocean data analytics from Cranfield University.
