An off-shore oil refinery worker was transferred to Grimsby’s hospital via helicopter and ambulance this morning.
A HM Coastguard helicopter was called to an off-shore oil refinery at around 10am this morning following reports of an “injured” worker.
The worker is said to have been injured whilst carrying out their usual work tasks.
Residents in Scartho, Grimsby, were shocked to see the large red helicopter land on Grimsby Rugby Club, and watch on as the worker was transferred between helicopter and ambulance.
The ambulance was awaiting its arrivals, ready to take the injured worker to Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.
A spokesperson from HM Coastguard said: “We landed at Grimsby Rugby Club this morning in order to transfer a patient to an ambulance after they had been injured working on an off-shore oil refinery.”
No details on the worker’s injuries have been released at this time.
