New partnership for Spectis Robotics set to create international opportunities

A specialist provider of remotely operated robotic crawlers and camera systems, Spectis Robotics, has announced a partnership agreement with a Canadian firm.

Located in Kitchener, Ontario – known as the Silicon Valley of the north – Deep Trekker is a leading designer and manufacturer of underwater ROVs, cameras and submersible crawlers for asset inspection, maintenance and operational support to industries including nuclear, oil and gas, maritime, and aquaculture.

The new partnership will provide the Aberdeen-based firm with direct access to Deep Trekker’s experienced engineers to assist in the development of inspection solutions across multiple sectors.

Formerly Inuktun Europe, Spectis Robotics re-branded in June 2019 with managing director Brian Storie retaining full ownership. This latest development is aligned with Spectis Robotics’ continued promise to deliver proven inspection solutions complemented by a passion for innovation and collaboration to offer solutions with customisable off-the-shelf products.

Spectis also has an established research, design, and development capability and is currently working on several new products and improvements to its existing product range.

Brian Storie, managing director at Spectis Robotics, said: “We are delighted to be working with such a respected company in Deep Trekker. This partnership will strengthen our existing sales and rentals portfolio, whilst allowing us to expand into new industry sectors such as maritime, nuclear and aquaculture.

“We look forward to further developing this relationship to the advantage of our clients and help drive us towards our goal of becoming a go-to company for specialist inspection systems.”

Cody Warner, sales manager at Deep Trekker Inc., added: “Spectis Robotics has been involved in the sales, rental and servicing of robotic systems for more than 10 years; developing an impressive track-record over that period.

“We are very excited for them to be joining our distribution network and I’m confident that this partnership will bring benefits for new and existing clients of both companies.”

Spectis Robotics specialises in the sale, rental and service of robotic crawler vehicles and inspection cameras for clients in the oil and gas, nuclear, renewables, and civil engineering sectors, among others.

Based in Grandholm, Bridge of Don, the business was previously the European authorised distributor and service centre for Inuktun products.
