New fabrication facility opens at Ellesmere Port

An ambitious global service provider which specialises in the provision of pipeline, process and engineering services has announced significant investment in the creation of a UK fabrication facility in Cheshire.

Fortress Energy is an agile and adventurous business which was established to fill a gap in the market to deliver cost-effective, specialist pipeline and process services at a local level, initially in Kazakhstan and Russia. Now, as part of its global growth journey, it has opened the doors on a brand-new 13,500 sq.ft. welding and fabrication site at Ellesmere Port’s Rossmore Trading Estate from where a new division will deliver pressure part welding and fabrication site services, throughout the UK and beyond.

The move is expected to create up to 75 local jobs by the end of this year.

The company already has a solid, international industry reputation in the onsite machining and bolting market, and the new arm of the company will add a range of synergistic products and services to the existing portfolio, including pressure part fabrication and welding; component fabrication; fabrication and site services and mechanical support services.

Commenting on the Ellesmere Port facility opening, Fortress Energy Founder and MD Martin Atkinson said: “Our exponential growth in key markets is as a result of our ability to compose and develop innovative techniques and solutions, backed by team expertise totalling more than 70 years. This new facility will provide an important springboard from which we will be able to broaden our service offering in both UK and overseas pressure part markets.

“We are excited that integration between our machining and pressure parts division will come in- house, thus minimising the point of contact responsibility to our clients and facilitating an even more streamlined, responsive service.”

Head of the engineering, fabrication, welding and construction division Craig Gerrard added: “By creating this new facet to what we do, we will be able to augment relationships with existing clients and seek to grow our client base with new customers. The scope of this new base will allow us to do that in an organic way which marries with our distinctive approach to developing our business.”
