Inverurie Company Pledges to Raise £10,000 For Charity

A leading provider of innovative asset cleaning and decontamination solutions has pledged to raise £10,000 for charity during 2019.

Inverurie-based Denholm MacNamee has thrown its support behind the Charlie House Big Build Appeal to build a state-of-the-art specialist support centre that will provide a wide range of services to babies, children and young people with complex disabilities and life-limiting conditions, and their families, in the North East of Scotland.

The team has already kicked off fundraising efforts thanks to bake sales and a lucky squares competition to win a designer handbag.  Other events in the pipeline to boost the total include a family fun day, a sky dive by members of the Denholm MacNamee team, plus a quiz night on June 28th.  This will take place in the Drouthy Laird, Inverurie and teams of up to six are invited to enter at a cost of £10 per person.

The evening will also feature a raffle and two auctions – one of which will benefit Denholm MacNamee’s parent organisation’s concurrent fundraising campaign on behalf of Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children.

And the charitable work won’t stop there, as the Inverurie team has also committed to providing practical support to the Bennachie Care Home throughout the year.  As well as donating tools and boiler suits for a planned men’s shed at the facility, Denholm MacNamee will also raise funds for a greenhouse and assist with its construction.  Staff will even step into the kitchen to bake and serve a spring afternoon tea for residents.

Commenting on the company’s CSR commitments for 2019, Denholm MacNamee Office Manager Julie McAdams said: “We are delighted to be supporting Charlie House by fundraising in lots of different ways and we are humbled by the support we have received from within the local community and further afield so far.

“It is also good to be giving our time as volunteers at the Bennachie Care Home and helping such an important and worthwhile setting right on our doorstep.

“Although it is slightly further afield, I have a close family connection with the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and have an appreciation of the excellent care and facilities there.  I was, therefore, pleased that our Glasgow-based parent organisation Denholm Oilfield Services jumped on board the suggestion to raise money for the hospital as a group – it looks like we have a busy and exciting year in store!”

Susan Crighton, Director of Fundraising for Charlie House, said: “Having heard all the fantastic things that the team at Denholm MacNamee are doing to raise funds for Charlie House, I am positive that they will hit their £10,000 pledge. We are very grateful for their support and this amazing amount will help us get one step closer to our ultimate goal, which is bringing Charlie House specialist support centre to families in the North-east. This life-changing centre will alleviate the need for families to travel over 100 miles to access the nearest respite and hospice services for babies, children and young people.”

Denholm MacNamee is a leading one-stop provider of asset cleaning and decontamination solutions to the oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation and utilities industries and works closely with customers to provide bespoke, uncompromising solutions which give the option to combine services whilst considering key issues such as cost and schedule delivery.
