Innovative Subsea startup nominated for multiple business awards

Aberdeenshire start-up company, Legasea, has now been nominated for three business awards in quick succession.

Despite having only established the business in 2019, the impact that the organisation has made, in a very short time, has been recognised by the judges of the following awards:

  • UK Enterprise Awards – Subsea Company of the Year 2020 – Winner
  • Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2020 – Disruptor of the Year – Finalist
  • Northern Star Business Awards 2021 – Driving Sustainability – Finalist

The Northern Star Business Awards recognise the exceptional accomplishments of organisations across the North-east of Scotland. Open to both members and non-members of the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, the winners of the 17th annual awards, will be unveiled during a glittering black-tie ceremony at P&J Live, Aberdeen, on March 11, 2021. In addition, through the generosity of attendees, the Northern Star Business Awards have raised more than £30,000 in the last five years towards helping local charities.

Seona Shand, the Chamber’s membership and events director, said: “This has been a very difficult year for many businesses so it has been an inspiring and invigorating process to go through the record number of entries and the many examples of bold businesses creating opportunity in the Aberdeen city region.

“While we cannot give them all an award, each of our finalists is truly deserving of recognition for their achievements and I’m looking forward to the awards night in March to help celebrate with all those entrants who have made it on to the most competitive of shortlists. You really are all winners.”

Lewis Sim, Legasea Managing Director said “We are over the moon with the nomination, and we would like to say a big thank you to the Northern Star judges, for shortlisting us, and acknowledging the amazing accomplishments of everyone in our team; during what has been a challenging time for all businesses across the region”
