Ensco awarded series of new contracts

 

Offshore driller Ensco have secured a series of new contracts and extensions, according to the company’s latest fleet status report.

Semi-submersible rig Ensco 8503 was awarded a four-well contract with Apache in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico that is expected to commence in June, while another emi-submersible, Ensco DPS-1, secured a two-well contract from Woodside offshore Australia. The Woodside contract is scheduled to commence in February 2020.

Drillship Ensco DS-7 secured work from Noble to work offshore Egypt for six months commencing in the second quarter.

Additionally, the company has clinched new contracts for four jackup rigs.

Ensco 100 was awarded a five-well contract by Repsol-Sinopec in the North Sea which is expected to commence in June, while Ensco 121 was awarded a three-well contract with ONE in the North Sea that is due  to start in April. Ensco 107 was awarded a one-well contract with Jadestone Energy, offshore Australia, with works scheduled to start in March. Lastly, Saudi Aramco has extended the contract for Ensco 96 offshore Saudi Arabia by six months to August.

Ensco is on the verge of completing the acquisition of Rowan Companies, with shareholders of both companies agreeing a $12bn combination. The enlarged company will have a fleet of 82 rigs across six continents.
