Energy Observer is proud to announce the launch of the industrial activities of Energy Observer Developments

During the "Hydrogen, the Right Move at the Right Time" day, organized by AFHYPAC (French Association for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells) at the "Maison de la chimie" on Thursday, December 12, 2019, Energy Observer announces the launch of Energy Observer Developments' industrial activities, thus confirming its desire to deploy clean systems for everyone.

The "Energy Observer" is now considered as a major innovation player in the Energy sector and an ongoing significant fundraising campaign will make it possible to finance the development of pioneering and ambitious industrial projects aiming at accelerating the transfer of technologies from the Energy Observer boat to a wide range of applications.

Jérémie Lagarrigue presented the main activities of the Energy Observer Developments during the round table on the decarbonisation of the maritime and river sectors using hydrogen. Energy Observer Developments thus offers a range of embedded systems and services: production of hydrogen power generators; engineering consulting in energy design; ecosystem studies, and hydrogen stations for maritime and land mobility.

During their European stopovers, the teams of Energy Observer noted and identified the real needs, but also understood the obstacles to the adoption of clean solutions. With Energy Observer Developments, Energy Observer wishes to put its experience and skills as sailors and engineers at the service of the development of an offer meeting the expectations and practices of the users.

After five years of design and testing in real conditions, Energy Observer is now launching Energy Observer Developments' operational activities thanks to the full support of its long-standing partners Accor, AccorInvest, Thélem assurances, Delanchy, and Amfil that have now declared their commitment as investors in this project.

Next to these loyal shareholders and sponsors that have been present since the beginning of the program, other major industrial partners such as ENGIE, Toyota, and Air Liquide are convinced that the Energy Observer Developments solutions are one of the extensions of their ongoing commitment to the development of the hydrogen sector, essential to the energy transition, for which it is necessary to mobilize and invest resources.

Today, shareholders, investors, sponsors, and industrial partners, are all joining forces with Energy Observer Developments to finally move from demonstration to concrete solutions, because innovation only makes sense if it is shared.

About Energy Observer
Energy Observer is the first hydrogen vessel autonomous in energy and that emits no greenhouse gases or fine particles. This electrically propelled vessel of the future operates through a mix of renewable energies and a system that produces carbon-free hydrogen from seawater. This technological and scientific challenge aims to test cutting-edge technologies in extreme conditions, anticipating the energy networks of the future that could be used on land but also to raise awareness among the general public and decision-makers on the energy transition.

Energy Observer is currently conducting an Odyssey for the Future that will last six years (2017-2022). During this time, it will visit 50 countries and call at 101 ports to raise public awareness about key aspects of the environmental transition, in particular : renewable energies, biodiversity, mobility, and the circular economy, through the stopovers made by its traveling village, through social media and in a documentary series. This world tour is led by Victorien Erussard, founder and captain, and France's first ambassador for the UN's 17 sustainable development goals and Jérôme Delafosse, expedition leader and documentary film series director.

Energy Observer has received the High Patronage of Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, as well as the official support from the European Union, UNESCO and IRENA.

About Energy Observer Developments
Energy Observer Developments is the result of a unique feedback experience acquired on board Energy Observer. The mission of Energy Observer Developments is to offer privileged access to the deployment of clean hydrogen on all territories, and in particular maritime, coastal and isolated ecosystems.

Energy Observer Developments aims to become the European leader in intelligent, clean and sustainable marine energy systems with its three complementary solutions :

  1. the energy design office Energy Designer
  2. the technical-economic models H₂ 360° making the relevant connection between local producers with land and sea consumers
  3. the GEH₂ hydrogen generator set at the quayside or on board in their Range EXtender, REXH₂, versions.
