Dril-Quip Execs claim Aberdeen Culture is to Whinge and Whine

A video conference call believed to have taken place over two weeks ago between Dril-Quip CEO Blake DeBerry, COO Jeff Bird and Chief Human Resources Officer Mahesh Pudecheri has now released via social media showing discussions relating to Aberdeen based staff.

Mr. Pudecheri the Chief of HR is recorded telling the other board members that the Aberdeen culture is to whinge and whine while CoO Jeff Bird laughs as he claims Aberdeen has become the lowest denominator.

Mr Bird then referenced research from analysts at Tudor Pickering Holt predicting 100,000 oilfield service jobs would be lost by the end of next year.

According to the call, Dril-Quip currently employ 1400 people globally with around 200 based in Aberdeen.

Employees who work in the manufacturing department in Dyce — and who shared the video with OGV Energy — suggested Dril-Quip might be planning to close the base.

Dril-Quip strongly denied it was planning to close the site.

The full video is available below.

OGV Energy have been informed that CEO Blake DeBerry has made an official apology for the conversation.
