Decommissioning North Sea installations is multi-billion pound business opportunity, according to Offshore Energies UK report

Offshore Energies UK (OEUK), the leading representative body for the UK’s offshore energy industry, will publish its annual Decommissioning Insight report next week.

Decommissioning is the process of withdrawing offshore energy infrastructure from use once it’s no longer needed or at the end of its lifecycle.

OEUK’s key report offers a unique overview of the challenges and market opportunities in the sector which involve some of the biggest and most complex engineering projects ever faced in the North Sea.

Its authoritative analysis provides a focal point of discussions at OEUK’s Offshore Decommissioning Conference being held in St Andrews next week.

Providing a detailed overview of requirements for decommissioning and recycling material from hundreds of oil and gas platforms in UK, Norwegian, Danish and Dutch waters, the report looks at the sector’s performance for 2022 and the challenges and opportunities in the decade ahead.

It will be launched on Tuesday, November 21st at OEUK’s annual Offshore Decommissioning Conference.
