Business Growth and Re-location of Safelift Offshore

Hugh Ramsay, Group Sales Manager, remarks that “in recent years the business has developed a special expertise in the area of ATEX rated equipment and, moreover, the company has become increasingly involved with all facets of technical procurement activities for brownfield & greenfield developments including sourcing third party equipment such as, Powered Tugs, Forklifts, Powered Access Equipment & Utility Vehicles to complement our core range of mechanical handling equipment. Due to our in-house compliance, design, engineering, manufacturing plus test & inspection capabilities we’re in a strong position to develop bespoke solutions for a customer’s particular challenge”.

He continues “Our products are typically used to assist with a practical handling application requirement both off & onshore and especially so where such a task may have proven challenging in the past. They allow for easier access, lifting, storage or transportation of equipment or material from one location or position to another. They ensure operational safety & efficiencies and protect the occupational health of the individual users or work teams whilst also offering environmental protection in many cases”.

“We’re currently focused on bringing new products to the market place, refining and improving certain existing items of equipment. We have a sizeable overseas customer base and currently export to most corners of the world due to the excellent reputation which our equipment has. In saying that, we’re continuously looking to increase our involvement with both alternative and overseas markets and to that end have been spending both time and considerable resources to participate in various international events, trade missions & customer visits with the objective of increasing our awareness of different markets and making contact with indigenous companies to collaborate with”.

“We continue to develop our know-how as far as specialist BS EN ISO 10855 /DNV 2.7-1 Containers & Frames are concerned and, for instance, we’ve recently supplied 14 Rigging / Workshop Containers to a major operator in Nigeria. Each container was specifically designed for the specific storage of tools and equipment and included the installation of ATEX Zone 1 lighting.  Furthermore, we have invested in stock of standard 6 ft, 10 ft & 20 ft Containers to facilitate either straight supply or rapid conversion to meet our client’s requirements”.

“Early contact & engagement will ensure optimum outcomes for everyone so we look forward to discussing our customer’s requirements and applications with them as the year progresses. This sort of close dialogue has, in fact, been the cornerstone of the organisation’s development to date, indeed, the knowledge and experience that Safelift possesses has many direct benefits for Project or Operation & Maintenance teams in terms of improving overall supply chain efficiency with a demonstrable reduction in procurement costs whilst helping to achieve best practice & raising safety standards across the various industries we serve and for these reasons we anticipate a very successful year ahead!”
