Our ‘OTC Business Breakfast’ will give you the opportunity to hear firsthand from some of the energy sectors most influential and insightful leaders as to what motivated the decisions behind their corporate strategy and what their outlook is for the future of this evolving energy landscape.

The format of this event is 'Chatham house' rules to enable our panellists to provide honest and valuable insights that will only be available to the attendees of the event.

Moderator: Mary McIntyre, President, Merrimac International

Mary McIntyre is the Founder and President of Merrimac International, a retained executive search firm with expertise serving clients across the energy industry. Mary has over 25 years of experience across multiple industries in leadership roles.

Keynote Speaker: John Ardill, Vice President of Exxonmobil

John Ardill is Vice President of Global Exploration at ExxonMobil, located in Houston, Texas. He was born in the UK and is a U.S. citizen, having worked in the U.S., Europe, South America and the Middle East.

After receiving his B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Edinburgh in 1992 and Ph.D. from the University of Liverpool in 1996, John began his career as a geologist with Exxon in London.

Over the last 25 years with ExxonMobil, John has held various leadership positions in Exploration, Development, Production, Research, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Corporate. In his current role, John is responsible for ExxonMobil’s exploration activities around the world.

John is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Geological Society of London, and serves on several Boards.

 

Rob is Senior Director of Partnerships for the Microsoft Energy & Resources team.  He is responsible for identifying and engaging energy industry partners who can work alongside Microsoft to accelerate energy transition and digitalization.  Previously, Rob led the Energy Acceleration Program for Microsoft’s engineering organization.  Working with customers and partners, Rob focused on identifying and implementing new digital solutions for the industry.  

Rob is also the Site Lead for Microsoft’s Houston office at the Ion.  He is responsible for site operations, employee engagement, and ensuring strong community & ecosystem support and collaboration.  The Microsoft team at the Ion is driving industry digitalization and transformation through deep partnerships, research, and innovation. They are also taking a leadership role in growing Houston’s technology ecosystem and in empowering Houston’s diverse workforce.

Rob serves as the Vice-Chair of the Ion Leadership Advisory Roundtable which is focused on making the ion ‘the home for Houston’s Innovation community.’ He also serves as an advisor to the DivInc Clean Energy Accelerator, the Rice Alliance Clean Energy Accelerator, and Greentown Labs Houston.

Rob has been with Microsoft for about 4 years.  Previously, Rob spent 17 years at ExxonMobil in a variety of technical and leadership roles in the Upstream business. A geologist by background, he also created an Upstream Innovation team within ExxonMobil. His team focused on rapidly delivering solutions that helped ExxonMobil increase profitability from exploration to production. He also worked to instill a culture of innovation by bringing an entrepreneurial mindset to all employees. Leveraging design thinking and lean startup, his team challenged paradigms, empowered others, and delivered value.

Rob earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Science from the University of California Santa Cruz. He lives in the Woodlands, Texas with his wife and two sons (15 and 18 years old).  Rob is a former Loaned Executive and Young Leaders Chair with United Way of Greater Houston.  He is a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters.  He is heavily involved with the following local organizations that promote innovation in underserved communities: SUPERGirls Shine Foundation, DivInc, Level Up, and Greentown Labs’ Accel.

 

With over a decade of subsea industry experience – in areas ranging from manufacturing to operations – Kyle possesses a unique skill set that helps to define DRIFT Offshore’s distinctive service model.

Most of his career has been spent in leadership positions as he’s consistently supported successful project delivery in regions around the world.

In recent years he’s primarily worked in a dual role, operating both onshore and offshore to manage assets, projects, technical training and competence.

Throughout, he has devoted time, energy and expertise to drive technical training and bring through new industry talent.

Dawn Robertson is the Director of Exploration & Production - Energy Global Business Line, Bureau Veritas Group. Responsible for the Upstream business across the full lifecycle from planning to exploration, operational excellence and decommissioning.

An experienced Director, MBA and BA (Hons) qualified, with over 20 years strong commercial and business improvement experience. Providing strategy, vision and leadership while building strong performing and collaborative commercial teams globally. Actively involved in Board of Director positions since 2014. Currently Non-Executive Board Director for the not-for-profit trade associations Decom Mission and also the Energy Industries Council. 

A proven track record of strategic leadership, a passion for driving growth, and a commitment to fostering innovation. Throughout her career Dawn has been responsible for matching external business challenges with talent and has a comprehensive understanding of the needs and corporate demands across a number of customer industries including oil & gas, marine and renewables. 

Throughout her career at Bureau Veritas Dawn has covered a host of key topics whereby she needed to be abreast of the market challenges, opportunities, key players, government stakeholders, policy and new technologies coming to market.

 

Christian Duun Norberg is the founder & CEO of Fieldnode, with an ambition to enable a digital transformation of the supply chain, changing the status quo from the - “dreamer” phase to the “doer” phase.

Former founder & CEO of Fieldmade, a deep tech company with expert knowledge within the full spectrum of applied Additive Manufacturing. 

He has 12yrs working experience from the Norwegian Armed Forces (NORNAVSOF) and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), former lead strategic advisor – Additive Manufacturing for the UK MoD. He holds a dual MSc. from Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)/ Stanford University.
