Xodus grows capabilities with addition of renewables advisory team

International energy consultancy Xodus Group has expanded its renewables capabilities with the addition of a dedicated advisory unit.

The advisory team will support lenders, developers and the wider supply chain to identify and capitalise on renewable energy opportunities and mitigate against risk.

Scott Hamilton has been appointed to lead theteam, with a focus on due diligence, supply chain analysis and techno-economic analysis. Mr Hamilton will develop, manage and deliver a range of commercial consultancy services to owners and developers of renewable energy assets and wider industry participants. He will also help deliver commercially-focused business analysis, economics and due diligence services to clients.

Mr Hamilton previously worked as a special advisor supporting Scottish and Norwegian companies to assess the suitability of their products or services in the international offshore wind market.

Mr Hamilton will be supported by Rob Clayton, who joins Xodus from Wood, where he worked as a wind and marine energy consultant. His previous project experience includes conducting bank grade energy yield assessments for international wind farms, third party technical reviews and global market assessments of marine energy technology and developing strategic commercialisation plans to assist in the acquisition of grant funding.

Xodus has a wealth of advisory experience in the oil and gas sector but this is the first time there will be a dedicated resource for renewable energy projects.

Peter Tipler, Xodus’ Renewables Director said: “The energy transition is a key priority for the company and this new service now makes us a truly rounded renewables consultancy, where we can provide knowledge and expertise from the very beginning of what can be a complex process involving many stakeholders.

“Scott has substantial background in providing technical consultancy, due diligence and market analysis to clients of all sizes and across both the onshore and offshore wind markets. He is also experienced in liaising with financial institutions, industry bodies and government officials and ministers.

“Rob brings significant consultancy experience and has advised on some of the leading wind and marine energy projects around the world. Their passion and in-depth knowledge will help our clients identify and make the most of opportunities in renewable energy.”

Xodus is exhibiting at Stand H21 at All-Energy 2019.
