QHSE ABERDEEN recognised that SME Businesses play a vital role in the transition to net-zero.
They assist clients with Environmental standards and Carbon Neutral verification, this is an example of a great outcome for one of their clients…..
In early 2022, KR Group founded their sustainability initiative ‘KR Bon Reduction’, a pilot scheme initially dedicated to repurposing cladding waste and diverting it from landfill.
This circular economic solution to cladding waste will see more than 7,700 tonnes of Co2 emissions prevented in the next five years.
KR Group engaged the services of QHSE ABERDEEN to develop and implement PAS 2060 & ISO 14064 Methodology. The system developed demonstrated the carbon neutrality of KR Group’s entire organisation. This enables the company to demonstrate that their carbon neutrality claims are credible, such as Measurement using a sound methodology, Reduction of emissions through a target-driven carbon management plan, Offsetting of excess emissions by purchasing carbon credits through certified carbon credits that meet the schemes approved by PAS 2060.

In March 2022, KR Group successfully became ‘Carbon Neutral’, achieving a balance between the carbon the business emits and the carbon it prevents. This is made possible by making fundamental changes within the business to reduce carbon emissions caused by business activity. The remaining carbon is offset via their partnership with Highland Carbon, who manage ‘offsetting projects’ such as forest protection and reforestation, windfarms, solar arrays, hydropower, waste reduction and community schemes.
KR Group efforts have been recognised on a national level, with KR Group being shortlisted as finalists at both the recent CeeD Awards and FSB Awards in their Sustainability categories.
“We are delighted to be a business making strides with the net zero agenda in construction,” explains Nicola, KR Group Business Director.
She goes on to explain the process of KR Group achieving PAS 2060 certificate. “A lot of it was unknown territory but we pioneered through in a collaborative manner. The expertise of QHSE ABERDEEN made the process a lot easier.
We felt we were in competent hands throughout and wouldn’t hesitate in using their services again.”
David Rusling, Managing Director of QHSE ABERDEEN said
“Taking control of the process now rather than waiting for supply chain pressure allows organisations to turn emissions assessment and reduction to their advantage.
Accurate measurement and strategic reduction plans will help your organisation get closer to carbon neutral certification through PAS 2060
Partnering with us at QHSE ABERDEEN gives you the guarantee to Independently measure the emissions that are material to your company. It also gives you access to expertise in carbon management and reduction that will make your business’s journey to Carbon Neutral as smooth as possible.”
