Peterhead Facility Marks Successful Diversification

Peterhead Facility Marks Successful Diversification

A leading provider of integrated logistics solutions has welcomed landmark vessels which represent successful diversification into new sectors.

NorSea UK’s Peterhead facility recently received its first ever grain and coal vessels, taking the company into important new marketplaces and maximising recent multimillion-pound investment in the Aberdeenshire base.

Whilst still focused on the provision of traditional services to project vessels operating in the North Sea, the recent work further underlines the multi-purpose capabilities of its Merchant Quay base where the removal of the old fish market building significantly added to the space available.

Further marine traffic is anticipated as the facility rapidly grows its reputation as a leading location from which to service an increasingly diverse range of sectors, including renewables as well as oil and gas.

Commenting on the successful diversification strategy, NorSea UK Country Manager Karen Russell said:

“During these challenging times, it is more important than ever for us to find strength through diversification and tapping into these new markets is an excellent way of fostering sustainability.

“Investment in our Peterhead facilities makes us correctly positioned to service the needs of a wide range of industries, using a local supply chain to fulfil our long-term commitment to the town.”

NorSea UK operates from its headquarters in Aberdeen’s Altens Industrial Estate and facilities at Peterhead’s Merchants and Smith Quays. The privately-owned company provides supply bases and integrated logistics solutions to the energy and other industries. Across its operations, the company aims to deliver high-tech, innovative and complete supply chain solutions which are tailored to customer needs.

Part of the 55-year-old Scandinavian NorSea Group, NorSea UK has reported steady growth since its creation in 2014, and a recent regionalisation strategy with NorSea Denmark has provided another catalyst for growth by increasing autonomy to use group knowledge and capitalise on market opportunities.
