OGV Energy secures all-star panel for OTC event

With just five weeks to go until the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) kicks off, plans are well under way to make OGV Energy’s next breakfast briefing in Houston the best.

An all-star cast of industry leaders from the UK, Norway and US will get to grips with the digital changes sweeping across the oil and gas and energy sectors at the inaugural OGV Energy gathering in Texas.

The last few tickets remain for the event, which starts at 7am at the Post Oak by Uptown Houston Hotel on Tuesday May 7 2019.

Damian Bates, consultant, author and journalist, will act as the facilitator for the event. Currently running his own successful reputation management consultancy, Abraitis and Co. Bates also acts as chairman of an international B2B marketing company, Fifth Ring, and has over 28 years experience as an editor and journalist.

Thomas Sunde, VP Technology at subsea 7, will feature on the panel of speakers, accompanied by; David Currie, Chief Executive at Proserv, Steve Hamilton, Technology Manager at Xodus and Roderick A. Larson, President and Chief Executive Officer at Oceaneering International.

The theme is “Business Transformation in Oil and Gas.” Over the past few years companies have had to look to new technological advancements to identify efficiency and cost savings. With the changing environment, digital technologies have the potential to transform operations and create additional profits from existing capacity whilst looking at how companies build on this.

The panel will look at the impacts of the capabilities in new technologies currently available and discuss their application throughout the industry and the rise of the new digital oilfield.

Asking the questions - Do the changes in asset ownership represent a big opportunity for the supply chain? Are operators and energy service firms finding new, innovative ways of working together to deliver projects? Is further consolidation in the oilfield services sector inevitable?

The business breakfast is supported by sponsors ACE Winches, SQA, Leidos and ICR. Whilst, Oil & Gas UK will live stream the event, providing an opportunity to attend digitally.

Facilitator, Mr Bates said “I’m absolutely delighted to be working with OGV at the business breakfast at OTC. We’ll be looking at the opportunities that surround digitalisation and technology in the Oil and Gas sector. We all know we’ve been through a tough time of late but the future is looking incredibly bright. We’ve now got an opportunity to utilise the technology that exists out there to give us all a bright future.

Panelist, Mr Currie said “I’m looking forward to participating in the OGV Business Breakfast in OTC, where I will be talking about technology and it’s applications in our industry. Technology and the way we use it going forward, is the thing that will improve both the cost and efficiency of our business models and as a team we hope to discuss this at the breakfast.”

Speaker, Mr Sunde added “I’m looking forward to speaking at the OGV Business Breakfast in Houston to talk more about our technologies and the industry. The subsea industry is moving fast in digitalisation now, applying digital technologies from other industries and allowing us to change the way we are working. Also, creating more efficiency and higher quality of our decision making.” To register, click here or email office@ogvenergy.co.uk.
