Offshore Europe 2019 - JDR CABLE SYSTEMS Subsea Tiebacks

Can you start off by telling us a bit about the company and what you do?

JDR Cable systems makes Subsea umbilical’s and cables. We supply those to all the major operators in the oil and gas sector and all the epic contractors, they’re a vital connection, they’re the link between subsea hardware and topside so it’s all about the extraction and power that enables the operators to extract the oil and gas from subsea.

Can you tell us about any products that you’re showcasing at the moment?

A showcase product for us at the moment is subsea tiebacks there’s a trend in the industry since It started to recover in the last 18 months to look at cheaper investments where there is a quicker return on investment where it means they can extend and sustain the oilfield life. That’s what subsea tiebacks do, it’s a blend of technologies, it delivers better safety, technology, better return on investment and that enables us and the customers to sustain the oil fields for longer.

Great. So, what brings you to Offshore Europe 2019?

It’s a big conference for us, most of our major customers and stakeholders are here. We run a hospitality event around this which we invite our customers and stakeholders to so it’s a good opportunity for us to network and meet people and encourage those relationships. We meet people at the show, we tour around. Its an opportunity for us to go and meet customers as well who are based in Aberdeen and we get a lot of our staff here at the same time as all the organisations that we interact with. It’s a good way to meet a lot of people in a short space of time.

How are you finding it so far? Are you enjoying the new venue?

Yeah, I like the new venue, it’s a better layout, I think its well-attended this year from what in can see. I think tomorrow will be busier. Its good from what I’ve seen so far, I’ve seen a lot of people, so it looks promising.
