Offshore Achievement Award Nominee - Air Control Entech

Tell us why you entered your business into the OAAs.

The OAA’s are some of the most prestigious awards in the Oil & Gas industry. We entered Air Control Entech and our founder & MD Kieran Hope to the OAAs because to be shortlisted is a really rewarding recognition of the work we’re trying to do and the technologies we’re building. Even in the wake of the nominations we’ve received inquiries and opportunities from some key industry players, which ultimately is the reason for entering the OAAs – building opportunity, recognising innovation and driving business in the offshore O&G sector.

What does it mean to your team/business to be a finalist or if you were to win?

We recognise the prestige of a nomination in the OAAs and we stand alongside really fantastic finalists. Already to be a finalist in two categories is real validation for us as a company. To win in either would be an honour, and to do so in front of our team, our investors and our clients would make for a night to remember. Air Control Entech and our founder Kieran Hope started from nothing – just an idea and a drive to achieve something. It’s been a long journey with a lot of turns along the way, and we’ve had to fight to prove ourselves and our technology. In the early days it was hard work to keep afloat, operating with very limited resources in an industry determined to cut costs. We made it through and recently closed our very first investment round. It’s been a defining experience for our company. The development in our technology and our team, and the leaps forward we’ve been able to make because of our investors has really changed Air Control Entech, and an OAA nomination is truly a fantastic recognition of that.

In your opinion, how do awards like these support your business and the industry in general?

Awards such as the OAAs are critical to driving, promoting and celebrating innovation in a technology-centric industry such as the offshore Oil & Gas sector. The industry has seen some tough times in recent years, and nights put on by awards ceremonies really do remind people that they are working towards something important, working in an industry that is changing the world through technology, innovation and teams. When times are difficult it can be easy to forget why we do what we do, but awards like the OAA remind us of our ‘why’, and in our opinion that is why they’re so important.

What are you most looking forward to when you attend the OAAs on the night?

At Air Control Entech we’re a family – we’ve always strived to operate that way. To date, we’ve been a small team, but in the wake of our recent investment round we’ve grown to include our early stage investors and some new customers that we’ve been able to serve due to the investment. We’re most looking forward to gathering our investors and our customers and taking them to the OAA ceremony to say thank you, to invite them formally to the Air Control family and to celebrate with them.
