North East and Middle East Link Up for Landmark Event

A market and energy transition showcase celebrating links between the North East and the Middle East has provided the backdrop for a renowned networking event reaching a key milestone.

Since Granite PR’s inaugural Gateway linked Aberdeen with Houston in March 2013, the series has grown exponentially to include a range of locations such as Guyana, Norway and Perth WA as well as the United Arab Emirates.

This week’s 2021 Aberdeen-UAE Gateway was the 30th such event the company has staged, and the latest offering was held in association with the Canadian Business Council Abu Dhabi and the Norwegian Business Group Abu Dhabi using an online format to maximise global access for delegates.

An impressive line-up of international speakers presented a range of information looking at opportunities in the market and heard about the experiences of some of those UK-based companies who have already dipped their toe in the corporate waters of the UAE and wider region.

Commenting on the success of the event, Norwegian Business Group Abu Dhabi President Marte Flaaten said: “We are delighted that we have had yet another successful Aberdeen-UAE Gateway.  It is so important to stay up to date with the current market changes, and I believe the Gateway provides exactly that.

“We are grateful to have had such great speakers from various sectors, shedding light on very important information which can help business succeed in UAE.”

Commenting on the success of the event, Granite PR Managing Director and Gateway series creator Brett Jackson said: “The Gateway’s success in reaching its 30th event is down to all of those supporters and delegates who have been part of the journey so far.

“From the outset, the appetite to connect people using the Gateway platform was clear and the event’s growth from its Houston roots to include other key locations has been an organic journey.  By listening to what delegates and the market wants, we have been able to evolve in step with the world around us.  I am delighted that we have been able to embrace technology and deliver four Gateway events in 2021 with even more planned for 2022.”

The Aberdeen-UAE Gateway was supported by Canadian Business Council Abu Dhabi, Motive Offshore, Norwegian Business Group Abu Dhabi, Pro Partner Group, Stewart Travel, Stronachs LLP.
