Major Opportunities for Supply Chain as New Subsea Player Seeks to Build Relationships

Boskalis Subsea Services is creating new opportunities for the supply chain as the company continues its rapid growth trajectory.

On the back of recent contract awards, totalling in excess of £100million, the subsea construction company is inviting the supply chain to come forward with fresh, innovative ideas and new technology.

Boskalis Subsea Services, which has cemented its position in the North Sea with a series of inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) projects, is also turning its attention to securing large scale SURF (subsea, umbilicals riser and flowlines) projects globally.

Stuart Cameron, managing director of Boskalis Subsea Services, said: “As part of Boskalis’ offshore energy division, we can leverage a raft of specialist marine services to deliver a fully integrated solution to the most complex offshore projects in oil and gas and renewables. Working flexibly, we continually develop fit-for-purpose, cost-effective and safe ways of tackling underwater construction challenges.

“This does however require fresh ways of approaching complexity as well as new technology and applications which is why we are actively going out to the market to build relationships with suppliers who share our approach to innovation.

Aiming to fill a gap in the market for a smaller, nimbler subsea construction company with a focus on construction work and inspection, repair and maintenance, Boskalis Subsea Services has set its sights on winning SURF projects in the UK and globally.

Having executed in excess of 750 vessel days so far in 2019  and with a further 1,000 days already booked for 2020 and beyond, the company is also looking to add to its fleet to meet future demand.

Head-quartered in Aberdeen, Boskalis Subsea Services now employs over 80 people in the city, with 50 in Papendrecht and Dubai and 300 offshore on its fleet of dive support vessels.
