KR Group Take On Virtual Kiltwalk To Boost Fundraising Efforts

KR Group Scotland have signed up 23 participants to take part in the annual Kiltwalk, with walkers pledging to raise a minimum of £50 each for the company’s chosen charity, Alzheimer Scotland.

This year, due to Covid-19 the Kiltwalk will be completed virtually from the 23rd – 25th of April, in small groups (as per government guidelines) or individually to raise funds for a variety of charities. Walkers can choose their distance of either 8, 15 or the full 26 miles and efforts can be walked in one go or split up over the weekend.

To boost fundraising efforts, KR Group called on staff and supporters to take part virtually in their extended team, with any funds raised receiving a top up of 50% from The Hunter Foundation.

The construction company, who specialise in steel and cladding, have had a strong start to 2021, with the team completing several fitness challenges in aid of charity. Last month, seven staff members took part in ‘March for March’ where they walked 10k steps every day for the month of March, raising a total of £210 for Alzheimer Scotland. KR Group are now looking to boost that amount by taking part in the Kiltwalk.

Emma Walker, Accounts Administrator at KR Group, had this to say about the team’s efforts,
“I really enjoy walking so have loved getting out in the local area for these challenges. On the days when I’m less motivated, it has given me a boost to reach my goal. I’m also proud to be involved in the company’s fundraising efforts and hope we can top-up what has already been raised.”

Through these challenges, KR Group hope to encourage staff to look after their physical and mental health, as part of the company’s commitment to staff wellbeing, with the support of the Healthy Working Lives programme. With some working from home this has been an invaluable opportunity to connect and encourage each other to get outdoors.
