Aberdeenshire-based AquaTerra Group has invested £300,000 in the enhancement of a suite of inspection and repair tools which is set to open doors into new marketplaces.
Conductor cleaning and repair tooling has been part of AquaTerra’s product portfolio since the addition of AquaCLAM® through the strategic acquisition of the trade and assets of Subsea Engineering and Technical Services (SETS) earlier in the year. Now, in response to customer demand, a six-figure sum has been invested in enhancing its capability to execute remote non-destructive inspection of tubular members in and around the splash-zone.
With an unrivalled scope and depth of expertise, AquaTerra Group is an established leader in the provision of integrated services to the energy industry, focused on construction and engineering, technical rigging and lifting, fabric maintenance and access solutions.
This follows the earlier news that AquaTerra Group has already invested in excess of £500,000 in the purchase of an innovative underdeck access system which offers a cost-effective alternative to scaffolding. The patented QuikDeck® system facilitates faster erection and dismantling, particularly for underdeck applications, allowing increased efficiency and competitiveness for traditionally challenging scopes such as conductors and caissons inspection, maintenance, replacement or decommissioning.
Commenting on the new investment, AquaTerra Group MD Peter Robinson said: “Completion of the current development phase is expected in mid-December and already the improvements are being well received with projects waiting in the wings.
“By removing the need for diver or ROV intervention and offering an entirely remote solution, AquaCLAM® brings to the table a uniquely streamlined, robust and efficient solution which will bolster our capabilities in niche areas where we are already well known.”
