Carbon Neutral Energy Attracts New Commercial Director

Carbon Neutral Energy (CNE) has bolstered its senior management team with the appointment of a commercial director to support its market strategy of becoming a significant player in mobile, green battery storage.

Gary Wilson is joining CNE in Aberdeen which has recently appointed a senior team in Houston to drive its US growth and has embarked on a major fund-raise that will provide the capital to accelerate its rapid growth into renewable energy storage.

The fast-growing hybrid power company has developed a revolutionary energy storage solution that meets the growing challenge of storing and using electricity produced from renewable sources. With a range of mobile, modular energy storage systems with large capacity battery storage, CNE aims to increase green electrification and reduce carbon emissions, accelerating the UK’s net-zero ambition. Their energy storage systems address environmental issues and shortage of storage to help reduce waste.

With over 30 year’s experience, Mr Wilson joins CNE from Hoover Ferguson where he was vice president for Europe, Middle-east and Africa. In the newly created role at CNE, he will oversee the commercial aspects of the company’s corporate growth, working closely with sales director, Philip Patterson.

During his time at Hoover Ferguson, Mr Wilson was responsible for overseeing the growth of the UK, Norway and Middle East rental businesses. Prior to his five years at Hoover Ferguson, he held several positions with Ferguson Group as projects director, business development director and latterly managing director. He studied at the Robert Gordon University, graduating with a MSc in Operations & Service Management.

Chairman and interim CEO of CNE, Mark Patterson, said: “Gary’s appointment represents a strong addition to our senior leadership team whom he knows well. He brings a wealth of experience in leading sales, engineering and product teams in fast-moving logistics businesses and has a track record of delivering results.”

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Wilson added: “The transition towards greener energy solutions is one of the most exciting places to be in today and in the future. I am pleased to be joining this forward- thinking business at such an early stage. The work that CNE has carried out in the last two years is very impressive and the market is absolutely ready for this type of service.”

CNE’s eGen range offers large capacity battery storage from 1MW to 5MW in the form of a mobile unit with a suite of smaller static modules that can also be combined to to create large energy storage which can be customised to meet any size of customer power requirements at any location, potentially creating gigawatt storage systems. This fulfils demand for mobile power storage with no unnecessary pollution in this era of electrification.
