Apache extends North Sea Beryl drill waste arrangement

Apache North Sea has awarded TWMA a three-year, £5-million ($6.56-million) contract to provide drill cuttings containment and handling services on the Beryl field assets in the UK central North Sea.

TWMA has supported Apache on the project since 2013.

Under the latest award, which started in June, the company is supplying drilling waste handling equipment that can be easily transported between the Beryl platforms and support vessels when needed by drilling operations.

The limited space on deck and lifting capacity for skip and ship confirmed bulk transfer as the safest and most effective way to transfer drill cuttings onshore, the contractor added.

It is processing the drill cuttings at its facility in Peterhead, north of Aberdeen, using its TCC Rotomill technology which separates drill cuttings into oil, water and solids for recycling and re-use.
