Advisian Digital and Aurora Labs unveil 3D printing solution

Perth, Australia, 10 January 2019: Advisian Digital, the data science, software and technology business of the WorleyParsons Group, and Aurora Labs, the industrial 3D printing (3DP) technology company, have launched AdditiveNow, an additive manufacturing (3DP) solution centre for the oil, gas, resources and major infrastructure sectors.

The joint venture offers companies the ability to transform how parts are created and optimised – substantially reducing supply chain risk, decreasing costs and increasing efficiencies. AdditiveNow provides a unique suite of 3DP capabilities including advisory, design, qualification printing and short-run agile manufacturing.

John Bolto, specialist adviser, at Advisian Digital says: “The successes of early adopters, coupled with the 3DP expertise and resources now becoming available, offers resource businesses a huge opportunity to revolutionise their operations. And AdditiveNow gives companies the power to do just that – by making physical inventories, virtual ones – eradicating the need for surplus stock, reducing lengthy delivery times and ultimately reducing costs.”

AdditiveNow assists companies with manufacturing decisions to improve part efficiency, manufacturability and operability. The offering includes an in-house, multi-discipline engineering team that can design and certify new parts including agile short-run metal printing. Unlike other 3DP services, AdditiveNow provides companies with an end-to-end solution, from design and optimisation for duty (not just reverse engineering) to production and deployment – tailored to their needs.

Bolto adds: “It’s never been easier for companies to tap into 3DP. Aurora Labs’ latest printing technology, which will be available through AdditiveNow, is 10 times faster than conventional technologies. So by harnessing our engineering and manufacturing expertise in a complete solution, we provide companies with the agility and confidence to embed additive manufacturing into their operations.”

AdditiveNow is currently working with DNV GL to make certified 3DP parts a reality – creating another level of assurance that components will perform as intended. The designs produced by AdditiveNow will form part of a broader online catalogue to be developed by Aurora Labs.
