James Gregg- Chief operations officer at Motive Offshore
This is day 2 of ADIPEC, how are you finding it so far?
Its been really good, this is my first time here although my company is been here for 2 or 3 years. I’m very impressed with the scale and how well organised things are.
You’ve recently had a big contract win with Technip is that correct?
That is correct, it's from our spooling and inspection division, the contract is to provide wire rope services globally for all their vessels, there are about 16 vessels now so it’s our biggest contract win to date and we’re starting to roll that out through the different geographies that the company is in.
That’s really good news, and what are you doing here exactly, you’ve already got an office in Sharjah, are you expanding operations?
We established ourselves in 2016 here with a couple of people and we’ve now got an office with 16 people in it, we’ve got an operational workshop and yard and we’re expanding the business there in our new divisions. We’ve got a trading licence in Saudi last week, that is a big part of our future growth plans for Saudi.
Any other geographical areas you’re looking into after that?
We’re really focused on where we are just now. We’ve got various geographical locations but we are always looking to extend that. We think Saudi is going to be a lot of work over the next 2 or 3 years, that’s our focus just now but we are looking at other areas, Caspian, some of the other Emirates areas, we’re keeping our eye out there. We’re always looking for different geographical locations to grow into.
