Local networking and events group Aberdeen Young Professionals (AYP) hosted a panel session on Tuesday to discuss regeneration plans for Aberdeen City centre.
The event, titled '50 Shades of Granite: Falling back in love with the city centre', brought together a group of business people, entrepreneurs and young professionals united in their positive hopes and plans for the future of Aberdeen.
The panel included: Richard Tinto of Tinto Architecture, Allan Henderson of Aberdeen Inspired, Moray Barber Chairperson of Aberdeen Arts and TedX licensee holder, and Dave Griffiths co-founder of Staxx and Backyard Beach Collective.
Earlier in the month, AYP revealed that 76% of young professionals polled were unaware of plans to improve the city centre.
The panellists encouraged young professionals to spend on local businesses and shops, to promote Aberdeen's cultural, food and drink sectors and to become advocates of the city and its hopeful new narrative.
"We have a great opportunity to make a difference during a pivotal moment for our city. We have the resources, the capital and the people to make Aberdeen shine – lets now drive these ideas forward and make them happen" - Dave Griffiths, Co-Founder of Staxx.
The panellists urged participants to get involved in lobbying and backing the improvement plans put forward for Aberdeen's regeneration. For further information on the event visit www.aypgroup.co.uk.
